Webcast: Bone Cancer: Success of the Multidisciplinary Approach

Bone cancers are rare and often misdiagnosed. Alan Yasko, MD, MBA will discuss the importance of a team approach to the diagnosis and the treatment of these cancers. He will emphasize the value of multidisciplinary management at the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University for patients who may need one or a combination of cancer therapies including chemotherapy, radiation and/or surgery with state-of-the-art limb- sparing skeletal and soft tissue reconstructive surgery. Dr. Yasko highlights how current efforts on patient-specific treatments can yield favorable outcomes while preserving musculoskeletal function in order to improve quality of life for the patient.

Alan W. Yasko, MD, MBA is an orthopaedic surgeon on the medical staff at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and chief of Musculosketal Oncology at the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University. He also serves as vice-chair of Fiscal and Research Affairs in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine.
